From the recording Writing my book again
Lyrics
It’s getting harder these days absorbing all the facts
I take 1 step forward, I end up 2 steps back
Has it got better or a whole lot worse
You call it progress I think it’s just the reverse
People goin’ nowhere,
People goin’ everywhere
Wondrin’ what they’re all s’posed to do
All I want is someone to tell my story to… is it you?
I’m a Stranger in a Strange land
Faced with so many things I don’t understand
Nothing’s working out the way I had planned
I’m a Stranger in a Strange land
I come from a place a faraway star,
We had black & white TV, a second hand car
I come from a time when livin’ was hip
When life was so simple, Yeah life was a trip
But where am I now & why am I here
Why do I stumble & tremble from fear
Where are your leaders & do they pretend
Not to hear
People goin’ nowhere,
People goin’ everywhere
Wond’rin what they’re all s’posed to be
Shying from the prospect, frightened of the possibility
You worship your monsters & stars of the screen
& all of us strangers are caught in between
You blind us with science & tricks of the mind
You sell us a promise, the greater design
You all got an angle, you all got a pitch
You’re gonna be famous, you’re gonna be rich
You’re gonna be everything, you ever wanted to be
